The Salt Lake 5280 Speedway is a brand new event currently in development, giving me the opportunity to build its brand from the ground up. With no established audience, event history, or marketing assets to build from, I am leading the marketing and branding efforts by developing the event website, creating the visual identity, writing website copy, designing digital graphics, and establishing messaging that positions the race as Utah's premier one mile road race. Every marketing decision has been made with a clear objective: communicate speed, simplicity, and excitement while making the event approachable for runners of all abilities.
Our vision is to create an event that brings together a passionate running community around a distance that is often overlooked. While many runners spend their year training for marathons and half marathons, the Salt Lake 5280 Speedway offers a unique opportunity to challenge themselves in a completely different way testing pure speed over a single mile. The goal is to create an atmosphere where runners of every level can chase a personal best, compete against friends, and experience the excitement of racing a fast, flat, closed course.
As the project continues, I am refining the brand, expanding marketing campaigns, and preparing promotional content leading up to race day. This project has allowed me to combine branding, web design, copywriting, digital marketing, and event strategy into one comprehensive campaign, demonstrating how a cohesive brand can generate excitement and build a community around an event before it even takes place.
